Daylight is more than a photographic moment
A room changes through the day. Openings should respond to when it is used and to the site's constraints.
A beautifully lit photograph captures one moment. Record when a room is used, where light enters, and how surrounding buildings or trees cast shadows. Then distinguish light needed for reading or cooking from a desired view of the garden.
More glazing introduces tradeoffs involving heat, glare, rain and outside views. Eaves, screens and furniture positions belong in the discussion rather than being decorative additions.
A courtyard or roof-light may connect a room with the outdoors, but proportions, drainage, maintenance and actual conditions still matter. Concept imagery is not a daylight simulation or a comfort guarantee.
Photograph an existing space at different times and note the activity at each moment. Small observations make the daylight conversation more specific.
